This 10-day tour offers a comprehensive overview of Uzbekistan. Travel to Khiva, a stunning open-air museum city straight out of the Arabian Nights. Admire Bukhara, a city over 2,500 years old, once a center of the world and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And, of course, discover the legendary Samarkand.

Tour Plan

  • Arrive in Tashkent. You will be met by an Advantour driver and transferred to the hotel. Check-in at noon. Your Uzbekistan Classic Tour begins with meeting your guide and starting sightseeing in the capital of Uzbekistan, the largest city in Central Asia. Visit the Old City, including Khast-Imam Complex, where the world-famous Quran of Caliph Uthman is preserved. Explore Chorsu Bazaar. Then take a ride on the Tashkent Metro to the city center and walk through Amir Timur Square, Independence Square and visit the Applied Arts Museum. Overnight at the hotel.
  • Morning transfer to the railway station for a high-speed Afrosiyob train journey to Samarkand (2 h 10 min). Upon arrival, your guide and driver will meet you and start the city tour. Visit the magnificent Registan Square, the remains of Bibi-Khanym Mosque, Siyob Bazaar, Ulugh Beg Observatory, Shah-i-Zinda necropolis and Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum, the burial place of Timur. Overnight at the hotel.
  • Continue sightseeing in Samarkand: visit the Afrasiab Museum and the Tomb of Prophet Daniel. Then drive to Konigil village to explore the traditional production of Samarkand paper from mulberry. After the экскурсия, enjoy free time with a car and driver at your disposal. Overnight at the hotel.
  • In the morning depart Samarkand and drive to Bukhara (280 km, ~4 hours). Stop on the way at Rabat-i-Malik Caravanserai. Continue to Bukhara and check in at the hotel upon arrival. In the afternoon, explore Old Bukhara, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: visit Kalyan Minaret, Kalyan Mosque, Mir-i-Arab Madrasah, Magoki-Attori Mosque, Ulugh Beg Madrasah Bukhara, Abdulaziz Khan Madrasah, the historic trade domes, Lyabi-Khauz ensemble and Chor Minor Madrasah. Overnight at the hotel.
  • Travel time may be approximately one hour longer when using vans or buses.
  • Start the second day in Bukhara with visits to Ark of Bukhara, Bolo-Khauz Mosque, Ismail Samani Mausoleum and Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum. Then visit Sitorai Mokhi Khosa, the summer residence of Bukhara’s last emir, a unique blend of Oriental and Russian architecture. Continue to the mausoleum of Bahauddin Naqshband. Enjoy free time in the afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
  • In the morning depart Bukhara and drive to Khiva (480 km, 7–8 hours). The route passes through the Kyzylkum Desert, following the ancient caravan roads of the Great Silk Road once used for transporting porcelain and spices. Arrival in Khiva in the late afternoon. Check-in at the hotel and enjoy a free evening. Overnight at the hotel.
  • As cafés and restaurants along the way are basic with limited menus, it is recommended to take a packed lunch (your hotel or guide can help arrange this in advance).
  • Some parts of the road are in poor condition, so travel time may vary.
  • Check-out from the hotel before noon. Today, explore Itchan Kala, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit Muhammad Amin Khan Madrasah, Muhammad Rahim Khan Madrasah, Kalta Minor, Juma Mosque Khiva, Tash Khovli Palace, Pahlavan Mahmud Mausoleum and Islam Khoja Minaret, the tallest minaret in Uzbekistan. Free time in the afternoon. In the evening, transfer to Urgench airport (30 km, 35 min) for a flight to Tashkent (1 h 40 min). Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
  • Duration of sightseeing tour: approximately 5 hours.
  • Check-out from the hotel at noon. Free time until transfer to Tashkent International Airport. Departure. End of the tour.
